Thursday was a really exciting day as Eligeo’s Derek Major participated in a Global Entrepreneurship Week event at DeVry Institute of Technology in the Calgary campus. Derek spoke about his experiences as an entrepreneur and also provided some advice and tips to the students and faculty on things that they should look out for when starting their own business.
“The one thing I emphasized to the class was the piece about networking. The one thing I ran into when I started out was that I thought you could hang an Open Sign on the door and everybody would come rushing in. I quickly learned from some good colleagues of mine that it took more than that which is what led me to build a fairly extensive network of contacts in not only my industry but in the small business community in Calgary and all over the world.” said Derek Major.
Also present at the event was Dexterity Consulting’s Gena Rotstein and High Country Vac’s Travis Johnson. The group was also treated to an exciting presentation provided by DeVry’s SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) and presentations by Rebecca Walsh on both the entrepreneurial spirit and Canadian Youth Business Foundation.
What makes Eligeo a different information technology is that we are always looking towards the future for our existing and future customers. We’re proud to announce that on December 11th, 2009 we will be opening the doors to a brand new, FREE, contact management solution called Eligeo CM.
Eligeo CM is a powerful contact manager solution that is web-based and can be accessed from anywhere in the world. We have some really exciting plans including a new CRM (Customer Relationship Management) blog launching and of course the highly anticipated beta for the Eligeo CM service.
Stay tuned to both EligeoCM.com and Eligeo.ca for more information in the coming weeks as we prepare to launch our very first in-house built product to Canada.
We have an exciting weekend at Spruce Meadows where we attended the RBC Grand Prix at Spruce Meadows. Thanks to everyone at RBC for inviting us out to this exciting event. While we were there we also had the opportunity to visit with a couple of Canadian Olympians Nathaniel Miller of Canada’s Olympic Water Polo Team and Brady Leman of Canada’s Ski Cross Team. Our Founder and CEO, Derek Major, is shown in a photo holding the Olympic torch with both of these amazing atheletes.
